Challenge: Technology and consumer expectations are changing rapidly and the wireless industry is ready for disruption.

Objective: Explore what disruption may look like in order to develop new service opportunities or awareness of potential threats that may force disruption.

CUSTOMER DESIREABILITY

Explored macro trends that are occurring to distill them to highest potential impact

 

Spoke with customers about their wireless service in general to understand what value it brings today and where potential gaps are

 

Spoke with futurists about their area of expertise and what explorations into the future they are doing 

Customer Requirements:

  • Push the bounds of communication

  • Wireless is a part of enabling many things but it should be an active member of the customer's day to day

OPERATIONAL VIABILITY

Worked with all areas of the organization to understand road maps and future capabilities being created

Shared findings to assist in prioritizing development or kick-start new development

Business Requirements:

  • Assist in prioritizing current work

  • Uncover new opportunity areas to begin developing products or services

  • Maintain a perspective of the brand image

FINANCIAL FEASABILITY

 Key wireless business drivers were understood as prototypes and concepts were developed

​

Concepts were vetted to make sure they could be profitable business models

Financial Requirements:

  • Produce profitable business models

  • Promote new growth in the industry

Solution: This project resulted in a growth strategy that had brand elements. The strategy would have periodic releases that were focused on an uncovered trend or unmet need with accompanied features. This strategy would also assist in longevity and a competitive edge with planned releases to assist in continuing to develop and react to any shifts in the industry.

 

Results: 

  • The exploration has not launched yet.
